The Combatants. Richard v Bucky

Two of our villagers keep up a running battle throughout the year centered around their patriotic flag displays. In this most friendly of rivalries neither misses the chance to celebrate a national days of remembrance such as, for example, The Queen's Birthday, Trafalgar Day or St George's Day. The latest display was won this year by The Boot which hoisted its St George's Day banner at shortly after midnight on the 23rd April, some hours before the opposition displayed theirs.
