Clarendon Full  Half  Relay Marathon
3rd October 2010
Salisbury / Broughton To Winchester

Hi All, I think / hope I have thanked you all for your much appreciated help for this year but just thought you might want to see the feedback we have had from the runners many who would like to give their thanks to all the helpers ..... which of course is you!

Just please just click on the underlined bit and see the discussion of the race on the Runner's World site or go via www.clarendon-marathon.co.uk and see our new website.
Well 51 emails shots out of approximately 1200 runners I think is really great. Several of these were hashers (Hash House Harriers) and some were the hard core competitive club runners, some were both and some just wanted a good run and thanks to you they got one. We also have had loads of really positive publicity in the local newspapers (pre and post race).
So on all your travels to running or sports clubs, friends and colleagues please spread the word and maybe we can get even more next year.

Next Year: Please put the 3rd October 2010 in your diaries when it's very much hoped by me of course, the charities and all the participants that you can help out again. We are not expecting any changes from this year in terms of layout etc, which I think worked really well, so unless you want to take on a different task or maybe you want to compete in the run itself, (which of course you would be very welcome to), you would be good enough to help again. Unless otherwise discussed this will probably be in the same way as you did this year. But details will all be confirmed in due course.

Also please see a list of some of the charities who have benefited this year:-

Charities: As well as this event enabling runners to raise thousands of pounds for their own chosen charities in sponsorship, several £1000's in donations have been made from the proceeds to various charities / concerns in acknowledgement for your help such as:-

The Rotary Club of Winchester, Fire Services Charity, Cystic Fibrosis (HMF), Macmillan Cancer Relief, Mencap, Hatherden School Andover, Eastleigh Lions, St John Ambulance, Loving Care, Firsdown, Lopcombe Corner & the Winterslows Link Scheme; St John Ambulance, Broughton Village Hall, Eastleigh Lions, BOAZ Fund, Wessex Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer, Raynet, NSPCC, Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Chandler's Ford Scouts and Spearhead.

Big thanks again for all your help and support..

Please let me know either by phone or return of email if you are not able to help next year.  If you have any feedback or comments which might help the event or just even just to say hello and to confirm you can assist that would be great:)

See you soon and if not before then next year. ON ON (Hash expression)
