Houghton is roughly the halfway point of the marathon and so we set up a drinks station. Initially
we were glad of waterproof clothing but before long the rain eased off and the runners began to come through. Despite the
distance that they had run their spirits were high and many still had the breathe to chat and thank the team for their efforts.
All quiet as we wait for the runners to arrive.
On a fine Sunday afternoon a small group of volunteers got ready for the runners.
The first lady raced past.
The main body starts to arrive.
And still they came.
The first man is way out front.
